About Maypole House and ResCU

volunteerIn 1994 ResCU grew out of a parent support group for families bringing up a child or young person with disabilities.

It identified a need for respite care that will enable families to take a much needed break from the additional stresses of coping with an individual who has special needs.

Our Aims

To provide for young people and adults an outstanding environment encompassing the highest quality respite and day care facilities.

The Respite Centre will allow people with disabilities to stay in a residential environment away from home for a short time. This will offer the opportunity for developing relationships with a wider circle of people while maintaining access to local day services. It will also mean carers can have a break. This facility has been sorely lacking and is essential to the ever growing number of disabled people in our community.
